About Us

Three of our staff members are licensed and certified ISA arborists, signifying that our skills and techniques are up to date. Aside from passion for what we do, we strive to always be professional, thorough, and act with integrity—all are the foundation of our business. Every FJR Tree Inc. employee actively continues their education to stay current with industry standards. We make safety our top priority by utilizing top of the line equipment and complying with industry standards.

One of the most common questions we hear is “Why my tree? Why now?” Even if we don’t always have the answer, we do our best to find the solution.

Much like in western medicine, tree care sees its fair share of bandage fixes. At FJR Tree, we look at the big picture and treat the whole tree. The environment a tree lives in has the biggest effect of all on its health; the healthier it is, the less susceptible it will be to issues and diseases. Putting in a sidewalk, foundation, or patio creates stress on the root systems of nearby trees. Ideally, trees should live in a mulched bed with un-compacted, highly oxygenated soil and as little human impact as possible. We know this isn’t always possible, so we strive to educate clients on how routine tree care can prolong the life of your tree and save you money on tree disease treatment in the long run.

FJR Tree Service Certified ArboristISA Certification is a voluntary program that tests and certifies achievement of a professional level of knowledge and skill in the field of arboriculture such as tree biology, diagnosis, maintenance practices, safety, and other subject and practice areas within the tree care profession. The Certified Arborist examination has 200 questions on tree biology, tree identification and selection, tree-soil-water relations, tree nutrition and fertilization, tree planting and establishment, pruning concepts and techniques, cabling, bracing and lightning protection, problem diagnosis and management, tree preservation on construction sites, climbing and safe work practices, and tree risk assessment. Certification is valid for three years, during which time the arborist must complete 30 continuing education units (CEUs) in order to re certify. Certified Arborists earn CEUs by attending seminars, studying in college courses, or completing study in ISA published magazines and books. To qualify as a candidate to write the exam, an individual must  have a minimum of three years verifiable experience in various aspects of tree care.

FJR Tree Service Certified Arborist

We are proud members of the International Society of Arboriculture. We strive to perform work to industry standards and uphold an ethical benchmark.

Maintaining a Certified Treecare Safety Professional on staff means that organizations are committed to safe practices in arboricultural operations.  CTSP‘s are kept abreast of the latest technological advances and regulatory activities affecting the industry through the TCIA safety network, and must commit to ongoing education in the safety field in order to maintain their certification.  Because safety regulations and industry standards are continually evolving, the ongoing education requirement is vital to maintaining a legitimate safety program within a given company. In order to fulfill program requirements, CTSP‘s must complete a study guide, attend a two-day training workshop, and pass a rigorous exam.  Once certified, CTSP‘s must complete at least 30 hours of training others, or receiving education themselves, every three years.
